Happy Holidays, FC Band Families! The Weekly Cadence will be taking a Holiday Break, but we'll be back on Monday, Jan. 6 with all the news you need! 
Upcoming Performances
Winter Band Concert  - Tuesday, Dec. 17
Our Winter Band Concert will feature FC's Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony ensembles. The concert will begin at 7pm in the Robert Mason Auditorium (call time for performers is 6:30pm). A required rehearsal for Concert and Symphonic Bands, along with Percussion Class, will be held Monday, December 16, 3-5pm. Mark your calendars and please plan accordingly!  Questions? FC Jazz Ensemble at Jazz Kitchen - Sunday, Dec. 22
The FC Jazz Ensemble and Guest Artist Dr. Mark O'Connor, Director of Jazz Studies at UIndy, will be performing at the Jazz Kitchen in Broad Ripple on Sunday, December 22 from 12:30-2pm. An excellent buffet-style lunch will be served. Tickets are $32 each, and performers are free. Purchase tickets here.  Your emailed receipt will be your entrance ticket. Questions?  ask@fcbands.org

Mark your Calendar for the Three Events FC is Hosting in 2020
FC is hosting three events in 2020 and YOUR help is needed! Save the Dates - February 15; March 7; and March 14-15. More information will be coming soon about volunteer opportunities. Hosting these events is a great opportunity for FC to show off how amazing we are, and also helps bring in significant funding that benefits all of our students and helps keep all of our participation fees lower. Mark your calendar!

Last Chance to Purchase Ornaments - Tuesday! 
The last chance to purchase ornaments and get credit for your student account is at the Concert on Tuesday, December 17. The credit for selling ornaments will appear on the Jan. account statement. Thank you everyone who sold and purchased these works of art. Our first Papa Johns nationwide fundraiser in November was a HUGE success - earning $476 in just one weekend! So, we're doing it again in January! Once again, this is a NATIONWIDE Online Offer and includes Indianapolis locations! Sounds of the Season - Few Seats Remain 
There are still a few seats available at the Thursday, 7pm and Saturday, 2:30pm performances. Don't have a student in the show? No problem! SOS makes for a great date night. This is the best of Franklin Central's performing arts department. Few seats remain - order now!

Pick Up Info: 
Monday, December 9 at 8:30pm - Ornaments available for pick up at the prop room, just inside Door 3W. 
Tuesday, December 10 at 7:30pm - Ornaments available for pick up at the Band Parent Meeting.  
After Tuesday, December 10 - Ornaments available for pick up in the Band Office.

​Continue selling ornaments! Contact vpwaysandmeans@fcbands.org. Or, send your friends and family to buy ornaments at the Sounds of the Season performances and you'll receive credit for the sale (be sure they mention your student's name)! The last chance to purchase ornaments is Tuesday, December 17 at the winter concert. The most popular ornament is the angel.

We would like to thank all of the volunteers that helped make our 1st Annual Holiday Craft Fair a success! We raised $14,643 (net) in ONE day! That would not have been possible without your help! We value your dedication and commitment! Together we are making a difference!

Bands of America Marching Competition Patches
Do not forget this stocking stuffer for your Marching Flash. Here is the link to the web store that sells BOA patches. There are 4 patches recommended: BOA Regional, BOA Super Regional, "Muncie" and "Indianapolis". The cost (including shipping) will be about $31 for all four.

Side-by-Side Concert - Tuesday, Dec. 3
Don't miss this annual concert featuring the FC Wind Symphony along with the concert bands from Middle Schools East and West! Performances begin at 6:30 Tuesday evening in the Robert Mason Auditorium. Parent help is needed to help feed 250 students and staff before the concert. Sounds of the Season - Almost Sold Out! 
Don't miss out on FC's holiday extravaganza featuring FC Choirs as well as the FC Wind Ensemble! Featured ensembles from Franklin Central High School include the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Encores, Statesmen, Accents, Chamber Choir, High Voltage & ​FC Singers. Seats are $8, $12 & $15. All seats are assigned. Ornaments Fundraiser – Web Store Closes at Midnight, Monday, Dec. 2
If you have not done so already, please turn in your order form and check payable to FCBB IMMEDIATELY.  If you missed out on selling ornaments, you have until Midnight, Monday December 2 to sell from the web store. You can still buy ornaments!  You may do so at any of the December band concerts and at the five Sounds of the Season performances.

Housekeeping Items
New Scrips Code - for New Accounts Only! 
If you are signing up for a new Scrips account, please reach out to Amanda Groce for the code - we are having spammers trying to access our account, so please include your student's name in the email when you request the code. If you have an existing Scrips account, you do not need to do anything - your account will still work and accrue money for your student band account. Learn how you can use Scrips to earn money for your students' band account.

Marching Band Fees should be Paid in Full & First Payment is Due Now for Winter Band Opportunities
Parents - At this time, all Marching Band fees should be paid in full. If you have not paid your 2019 MB fees, please contact Becky Richardson to make payment arrangements. Also, Winter Guard and Indoor fees have been added to those students participating. Refer to your Financial Agreement for the amount. Go here for payment methods including online payments. You will be receiving a statement this week from CutTime.  If you do not receive a statement, please make sure we have your email address on file in CutTime. Using CutTime will allow up-to-date access to your account balance.
Winter Band Opportunities 

Winter Guard - Paperwork Due Monday, Dec. 2
Congratulations to the students who were named to Varsity and JV Winter Guard! There are many new guard members from marching band winds. All paperwork is due on Monday, December 2 and can be found on the FC Winter Guard web page. Note that Varsity and JV Guard have separate practice and competition schedules which can found on the FC Winter Guard web page or on the FC Bands Calendar.  

Pep Band Practices Start This Week
​Pep Band practices will be held in the band room. Upcoming practices:
  1. ​Wednesday, December 4 - 2:30pm-4:30pm
  2. Friday, December 6 - 1:30pm - 3:00pm
  3. Monday, January 6 - 3:15pm - 4:45pm
  4. Tuesday, January 7 - 5:00pm - 6:00pm (our first game!)

​IPA Clinic Day - Dec. 7, 9a-4p
Make plans to attend the 2019 IPA Clinic Day! Learn from and listen to some of the best percussionists across the nation.
What: 2019 IPA Clinic Day
When: December 7th, 9am-4pm
Where: Plainfield Middle School - Plainfield, IN (Please note the venue change from Plainfield HS to Plainfield Middle School)
Cost: $15 for pre-registration, $20 on the day of.

Percussion Symphony - Paperwork Due Friday, Dec. 20
Congratulations to the students who were selected for the Percussion Symphony! The Percussion Symphony paperwork is due December 20 and can be found on the Indoor Percussion page.  Your student WILL NOT have a spot in the show unless we have the Financial Agreement turned in by December 20.
