Hi Band Families!
​The Midweek Update is meant to prepare band families for the busy days ahead.  Instead of sending 5 emails, we're sending you this one email.  As always, if you have any marching band questions, please let me know.

​Friends and Family Preview
Thursday, August 26th at 7:30pm at the football stadium, the marching band will give us a preview of their pregame show and halftime show.  Invite your friends and family to join the fun.  We will have a surprise for everyone at the end!
​Senior Banners
On Thursday evening, after the preview performance, join your senior student at the banners on the far Northwest side fence for photographs.  The senior banners will hang on the fence during the football season and hang in the band room during the remainder of the school year.  These are perfect for hanging at your graduation party.

WINTER GUARD MEETING
After the preview on Thursday, August 26 at 8:30pm, we invite all students and parents that plan to be part of the upcoming Winter Guard season to join us for a brief meeting. The meeting will be held after the parent preview in the stands of the stadium. The purpose of the meeting is to get parent and student feedback on an important topic.

​Swag Orders

As of Wednesday, we do not know exactly when the swag orders will be ready for pickup.  We will make an announcement at the end of the Preview show Thursday. ​
​Football Tickets
Friday night, August 27th, come cheer on the Marching Flashes and the Football Flashes as we host Roncalli.  ALL tickets for the game must be purchased here:  https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=2180
Stay for the whole game!  The band will be performing the pregame show, the halftime show and will play in the endzone during the 1st, 2nd and 4th quarters.

​Pregame Dinner - Friday, August 27th
The band boosters will be serving students sloppy joe sandwiches before the game.  Students will drink from their water jugs.  This meal is only for students.  Parents may also drop off food for their student at 5:30pm at the East side of the Annex.

Game Day Schedule – Friday, August 27th
2:30pm – 4:30pm Practice at Stadium
5:30pm – Eat Dinner (East side of Annex)
6:40pm – March to Stadium
6:50pm – Perform Pregame Show
​7:00pm - Game Time
10:00pm – Approximate Release time after the game
 
Note: Parents will enjoy watching our band students march to the stadium.  Be at the east side of the annex at 6:30pm to take photos of your student preparing to march. 

Get a TEXT ALERT when the band is released Friday Night!
A text alert will be sent to parents Friday Night communicating when the band will be released at the end off the game.  Don’t miss out on this timely information!

​Fall Mum Fundraiser! Final Day is Friday, August 27th
Flowers will be $11 each, with $6 of that going directly to your student's band account. These flowers are a beautiful addition to any fall flower bed! Pick-up is September 8th.

​Spirit Buttons!
Marching Band Season means Spirit Buttons!  We are currently offering two buttons. The first option is a personalized button with your student and the second option is of the current show theme. Each button is $3 or you can purchase two for $5. Purchase a button for the entire family and save one for the memory book!
Each student will receive 1 personalized button (included in band fees).

Snack Donations Needed
The spirit committee needs individually wrapped snacks for treat bags. (Examples: fruit snacks, chips, fruit roll ups, candy, tootsie roll pops). Please place any donations in the storage tote outside of the prop room by September 3rd. Treat bags will be given out on competition days. Needless to say, we need a lot of donations. STUDENT SURVEY
Students, we ask that you take a minute to fill out this quick survey.  The survey will give the Spirit Committee a better idea on how to plan the most fun for the marching band!
