Oct 7 Midweek Marching Band Update

Hi Band Families!
Here are your final opportunities to be involved in the marching band season.  It's never too late.

Family Night at the Spooky Stadium

​Please join us on Thursday, October 8 at 8:00pm for "Family Night at the Spooky Stadium".  This is the final opportunity for families that are not able to attend the football games to see the show performed. Students are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes that do not interfere with their practice and performing.  This is a tradition for the last marching band practice before Halloween.  Unfortunately, the last practice of this marching season arrives 3 weeks early due to Covid-19.  Parents can dress up too!   ​

​Pregame Dinner - Friday, October 9

We will be serving chili on Friday night.  We still need servers.  Is 4:00pm too early?  You're welcome to arrive by 5:00pm.  Sign up now!

Game Day Schedule – Friday, October 9

At this time, tickets are still available for the varsity football game with Hamilton Southeastern on Friday, October 9.  To purchase tickets, Click Here.
 
3:30-5:30pm Practice
5:30pm - Eat
6:40pm - March to the Stadium
6:55pm - Pre-game
Halftime – Perform “Any Way the Wind Blows”
10:00pm – Dismissal
 
*The band will play during the game

NOTE:   Senior banners will be moved from the stadium fence to the band room sometime after game on October 9. The banners will hang in the band room until the end of the school year.

What happens next?

Marching band season is coming to an end on Friday.  The awards ceremony was last week.  What more band activities can we expect? 

• If Franklin Central hosts a sectional football game on October 30, the band wil be invited to perform at the halftime.  Practices will be scheduled if we perform. 
• Winter Guard auditions begin on October 20, 22, 27, & 29th from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the Franklin Central auxiliary gym. Auditions are open to current and new students at FCHS and 7th and 8th graders. To sign up for auditions:  Click Here
• Indoor percussion auditions will be announced in November.​
• Pep Band practice will start in December or January.
