Upcoming Performances

Halftime of Football Game - Friday, Oct. 18
Things to know:

1. This is the last tailgate of the season - and it's Senior Night! 
2. The tailgate menu is chili. Please Sign up here to volunteer or to bring in a crock pot of chili. We still need several volunteers and 11 crockpots of chili. Drop off your donations of chili on game day by 4pm at the Annex.
3. This is Senior Night, so seniors do not need to bring donations. Juniors - please bring desserts. Sophomores - please bring crackers. Freshman & 8th graders - please bring sour cream and/or shredded cheese. Our amazing Food Lead - Danelle Grimes - will be available to take your donations before and after rehearsal on Thursday. 
4. Thank you to the parent volunteers of the Spirit and Food Committees for hosting our tailgates!
5. The band will play the national anthem and FC Fight Song before kick off. At halftime, when they perform their show, cheer loud to let them know you recognize how hard they have been working.
6. FC Marching Band students will be dismissed after the game - after their equipment is put away.

Senior Night Information
Announcements/intros for the seniors and parents will be before pregame performance, beginning at 6:40. Parents and seniors need to be lined up on the track by the east end zone by 6:30pm. The Marching Flashes will march over to the stadium from the Annex at 6:20pm.

ISSMA Regional at Center Grove - Saturday, Oct. 19
The top 10 teams from this event will move on to Semi-State at Ben Davis High School on Saturday, November 2.
Things to know:

1. Center Grove HS is located at 4800 Stones Crossing Rd W, Greenwood +Google Map
2. See itinerary below for the day's schedule.
   
3. Let's cheer loud to boost our kids to perform their best and get them to semi-state!
4. Keep an eye out for Cut Time texts notifying when kids are loading the bus and the estimated time of bus arrival. They will not be released until the trucks and semi trailer have been unloaded.​

BOA Super Regional at Lucas Oil Stadium - Friday, Oct. 25
Your FC Marching Flashes will be competing on the biggest stage, under the lights in Lucas Oil Stadium!  This will be a two-day event with FC performing early on Friday. Students will have an excused absence from 2nd and 4th periods that day. If they make the top 10, they will perform again on Saturday. More information to come in the next Weekly Cadence!

Help us Fill Goody Bags for our ISSMA competition - Donations due FRIDAY 
The Spirit Committee is collecting donations to fill Goody Bags for our students! The Goody Bags will be passed out to students for the ISSMA Regional on Saturday, October 19. There is a bin marked "Goody Bags" outside of the prop room door. Please no chocolate or peanuts. The Spirit Committee will be putting the goody bags together on Saturday morning, Oct. 19, so please turn in donations by Friday so we can include them. Thank you in advance for your donations! ​

Trailer Donations Update 
​The trailer donation drive continues to accept your donations. If the band has your email address, we have sent a donation email to you at least twice; the email includes your student's photo. Please forward this email to your friends and family who may be interested in helping the band. If you would like for us to contact your friends and family, please print this form - fill out the form and have your child place it in the white box outside of the band room.

Trash Bag Fundraiser - Ends Oct. 21
The Trash Bag Fundraiser is underway, and orders are due Monday, October 21. We expect delivery to be the week of October 28. Trash bags cost $10 per roll and the student will receive a deposit into their band account for each roll of trash bags sold. The amount students earn will be based on the total number of trash bags sold - the more we sell, the bigger the profit. Visit the Trash Bag Fundraiser Page for all the information. Contact Becky with questions.

Spirit Night @ Freddy's - Oct. 23 (5-9pm)

Make sure you grab dinner at Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers from 5-9pm on Wednesday, Oct. 23!  The band will earn 20% of the food sales when this flyer is presented.

Sell PepWear to Earn Money for your Band Account - Oct. 24-26
Hey Parents! Want to earn some cash to help pay down band fees? Here is a great opportunity to earn $, represent FC, and get into a Bands Of America event for free! PepWear is offering us a chance to work in their apparel booth and earn $8/hr that will go directly to your students' band account. PepWear will also make every effort to ensure you get to see FC perform. Click here to sign up for a shift at BOA Indy. ​​Spots are filling up quickly! 

Holiday Craft Fair - Application Deadline is THIS WEEK
The 2019 Holiday Craft Fair Committee has selected nearly all of 100 available vendor spots - but there is still time to apply! Do you know anyone who would be interested in showcasing their talent at the event?  The deadline to submit a vendor application is this week.

The Ornament sale is coming - begins Nov. 11

• Four ornaments to choose from OR buy them all as a set.
• November 11 – Web Store Opens and paper order forms will be available.
• First set of orders will be delivered just before Thanksgiving!
• Ornaments will be available at the November 23 Craft Fair.  Show them off at the Thanksgiving family gathering!

Handmade in Africa with Fair-Trade wages! Half of the proceeds benefit an orphanage in Swaziland.

Housekeeping

Pep Band is coming in November!
The FC Pep Band starts in November and is a great opportunity to play fun music with friends and be part of the action at boy's and girl's basketball games.  This activity is open to all band students and is quite inexpensive. You'll be given a jersey with your graduation year on the back. There were 8 games last year that began after Thanksgiving and continued into February.  That's only about 2 games per month, a very low time commitment compared to other extracurricular band activities.  One more thing, there is PIZZA at halftime. More information from Mr. Ellinger will be coming soon.

Calling all Alumni!
