Winter Guard
Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities

Parent participation is vital to put on amazing Winter Guard shows. Since this is a non-profit activity, we rely heavily on parent volunteers to help ensure the competitions go smoothly. It is an excellent opportunity for you to get a behind the scenes experience and share in the love of the activity with your child. We need parent volunteers for all 3 guards.  A background check must be on file. Complete your background check HERE. Descriptions of the available opportunities are listed below. Please complete the volunteer interest form to get involved.
Volunteer Interest Form

Chaperones

Chaperones ride on the bus and stay with the students during guard competitions. They are responsible for taking attendance and making sure the kids behave appropriately and stay together.  Our kids are amazing, so your job is easy.  You get a behind the scenes experience, a free ride, and a ticket to the competitions (some exclusions may apply) just for spending the day with the kids!  If prop help is needed, you will be asked to assist with props during the competition.

Hair/Makeup

Students have a limited amount of time to get ready for guard competitions.  Parent help may be required for hair and/or makeup depending on the complexity of the show's requirements.

Prop Crew

The Prop Crew is responsible for staying with the props and pushing them on the floor during competitions.  This is an incredible behind the scenes experience and your ticket to the competition is included (some exclusions may apply). We need a lot of help in this area to put on these amazing shows.

Spirit Committee

The Spirit Committee helps make the kids feel "EXTRA SPECIAL" during the season.  Responsibilities may include items like collecting and preparing snacks, cheering on the kids, decorating flip flops, and preparing decorations.
